Antiquorum Kicks off 40th Anniversary with Auction of Rare Modern Complicated Wristwatches in Hong Kong with its auction of “Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces” to be held at Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong on Saturday, February 22, 2014.

 This will be the first sale in celebration of Antiquorum’s 40th anniversary which will encompass a total of 250 fine and exceptional timepieces from the world’s premier watch companies including the following highlights: a Patek Philippe Ref. 5004A stainless steel wristwatch with split-seconds chronograph made in a limited edition of only 50 pieces; a Patek Philippe Ref. 5004J yellow gold wristwatch with a black dial offered at auction for the first time; an innovative and unique Richard Mille tonneau-shaped “Tourbillon Prototype” magnesium wristwatch and a series of exceptional Rolex classics. Previews will be held in Singapore, Taipei, Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong.

The highlight of the sale among the numerous exceptional timepieces is no doubt the Patek Philippe Ref. 5004A stainless steel wristwatch with split-seconds chronograph made in a limited edition of only 50 pieces (Lot 250).  Produced in 2011, the extremely rare, important and double sealed wristwatch is highly collectible, with perpetual calendar, moon phases, leap year, 24 hour indication and a stainless steel Patek Philippe deployant clasp. Accompanied by a fitted wooden box, additional solid stainless steel case back, setting pin and leather folio.

Antiquorum is proud to present the Patek Philippe Ref. 5004J 18K yellow gold wristwatch with split-seconds chronograph and black dial (Lot 236). It is an extremely rare and important wristwatch with perpetual calendar, moon phases, leap year, 24 hour indication and an 18K yellow gold Patek Philippe deployant clasp. Sold on September 21, 2011. Accompanied by a Patek Philippe fitted box, Certificate of Origin, extra case back and push pin. As confirmed by the certificate, this 5004J is the only known example in yellow gold with a black dial and the only one ever to appear at auction.

Also for the Patek Philippe collector is the Patek Philippe Ref. 3939H, minute repeating platinum wristwatch with one-minute tourbillon regulator. The extremely fine and very rare platinum wristwatch was made circa 2008 with a platinum Patek Philippe deployant clasp. Accompanied by a fitted box.

Another extraordinary timepiece offered is the Patek Philippe Ref. 5971P, platinum and baguette diamond-set bezel wristwatch with square button chronograph (Lot 235). Sold on January 1, 2010, the very fine and rare wristwatch features perpetual calendar, moon phases, 24 hour indication and a platinum Patek Philippe deployant clasp. Accompanied by a mahogany fitted box, Certificate of Origin, additional solid platinum case back and setting pin.

Antiquorum experts are also offering a series of remarkable and creative tourbillon wristwatches, including the highly sought-after Richard Mille tonneau-shaped “Tourbillon Prototype” magnesium wristwatch, RM038 AL MG PROTO 03 (Lot 231). Sold on June 1, 2012, the very fine, unusual and extremely rare wristwatch features a visible one-minute tourbillon regulator, 48 hour power reserve and titanium Richard Mille double folding deployant clasp. Accompanied by a fitted box, warranty, instruction and a set of golf clubs in the bag.

For Audemars Piguet fans, there will be an Audemars Piguet “Royal Oak Concept” carbon tourbillon chronograph, Ref. 26265 FO (Lot 84) included in the sale. The extremely fine, rare and unusual carbon wristwatch features visible one-minute tourbillon regulator, linear power reserve, octagonal ceramic bezel and a titanium Audemars Piguet deployant clasp. Accompanied by the wooden box, warranty, instruction booklet and magnifying glass.

Another exceptional timepiece is the Panerai Ref. RAM348 skeletonized ceramic wristwatch, first example offered at auction (Lot 83). No. M23/30, made in a unique edition of 30 units in 2010, the very fine and extremely rare wristwatch features one-minute dual axes tourbillon, 6 day power reserve, 24 hour indication, two time zone and a black coating stainless steel Panerai double deployant clasp. Accompanied by the original box, certificate, international guarantee certificate, instruction booklet, booklet (Lo Scienziato 2010, Tribute to Galileo Galilei 2011 and Panerai catalog 2010), Galileo’s Telescope book, additional straps (x3), hang tag and sticker.

Specially presented by Antiquorum experts is the Patek Philippe Ref. 1373 “Piece Unique – Pendulette Dome 700eme Anniversaire de la Confederation”brass table clock. The very fine and unique, solar-powered and electromechanical brass table clock was created to celebrate the 700th anniversary of the foundation of Switzerland in 1991 and sold on September 22, 1996. The dial shows the flag of the original Canton (The bull’s head is Canton Uri, the small white cross is Canton Schwytz, and the keys represent Canton Unterwald).The table clock was entirely polychrome cloisonné enamelled with scenes of Swiss mountains and the foundation of Switzerland in 1291. It took a total of 8 months for Patek Philippe to complete this magnificent work. Accompanied by the fitted box, certificate, guarantee, registration card, instruction manual, hang tag and Japanese watch description in the frame.

Patek Philippe enthusiasts should take note of the Patek Philippe Ref. 5722/G-001 18K white gold wristwatch with diamond-set bezel (Lot 234). Sold in February 2009, the watch features date, moon phases, power reserve indication and an 18K white gold Patek Philippe concealed double deployant clasp. Accompanied by the Certificate of Origin, booklet, fitted box, push pin and hang tag.

For Rolex collectors, there will be the very fine and rare Rolex Ref. 3688 18K yellow gold and steel wristwatch with round button chronograph, steel and gold Rolex link bracelet with deployant clasp, signed S&L. Made circa 1937.
