University of Innovation’s heart shows off Creativity in Motion
Within a single evening, the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology brought together the future’s brightest stars, personalities and media at a lavish runway show in Mid Valley Mega Mall. As a part of the week long Integrated Innovation Exhibition, the fashion show was the center of attention as graduating students of fashion and retail design displayed their best creations on the 10th of July.

Creativity in Motion has become a brand in its own right, making it a highly anticipated exhibition of up and coming talents . Year after year, students strive to convert their ideas into various collections. The talent-filled affair was entertaining and enabled aspiring fashion designers to show what they had learned from the Fashion Design and Retail school. Creativity in Motion has been drawing attention from across the world. Just this year, the University showcased during London Fashion week in collaboration with the British Fashion Council, entering history as the first Asian and African University to do so.

Soon after, Creativity in Motion broke new ground once more, with the world's highest fashion show held in Petronas Twin Towers Sky Bridge. They then injected their unique artistry at the Suria KLCC Spring Summer Fashion Week last April as the only university invited to participate.

"This is not just a fashion show," stressed Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing, founder and president of Limkokwing University, "Normal fashion shows are meant to sell clothes. But this is also about attitude, making a statement and showcasing creativity at its vibrant best,"

Creativity in Motion featured works from 24 students from around the globe, such as Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Brazil, Indonesia, South Africa, Botswana, Iran and Iraq.

After benefiting from a focused curriculum, students graduate with knowledge on design,  tailoring, marketing and retail entrepreneurship. The Fashion Retail Program offers an extensive variety of fashion courses, allowing students to branch out into different sectors of the industry such as textile, clothing, costume, embroidery, accessories, jewelry, writing, photography, visual merchandising and creative business.

Five students received accolades for their job well done and received their awards from Luxasia’s Senior Product Manager Jessica Cheah and Associate Vice President of Talent Development of Limkokwing University, Dato Tiffanee Marie Lim. The award winners were Mohd Zulherzial Bin Omar for Most Creative Conceptualization while Most Creative Collection was won by Azrul Azuizan Bin Abdul Hadie and Harshini A/P Sukamaran took home the Most Innovative Designer award. The Most Creative Textiles award was won by Nancy Wong Mei Yann while Maria Sandra Wijaya scooped the Most Promising Designer award.

"Limkokwing University Design School is one of the best design schools. Our lecturers taught us every small detail and had patience with us throughout our studies. They guided us to become good designers and prepared us to face the real world of fashion,’’ said a delighted Maria Sandra from Indonesia, winner of the Most Promising Designer. "Limkokwing University always supports their students whenever they join competitions, be it national or international. It urges us to work harder and pushes us to  a higher level."

The show was made possible with the help and sponsorship of luxury and celebrated brands. Accessories and shoes were provided by Nose. Luxasia Sdn Bhd, the distributor for fragrances and cosmetics from Calvin Klein, Chloe and Marc Jacobs for Asia Pacific, sponsored the make-up and gifts for the winners.
